  Climb the highest peak of the Balkan Mountains (2376 m) along the most spectacular route in Bulgaria! This is not just a hike, but a true adventure in the heart of Central Balkan National Park. With an overnight stay at Ray Hut, we will have time to enjoy the grandeur of Raysko Praskalo Waterfall and witness the sunrise under the Ray cliffs.

  📍 Route overview

  Day 1: We start from the Panitsite area (Kalofer). The trail takes us through ancient beech forests and panoramic ridges to Ray Hut. After check-in, we will visit the base of Raysko Praskalo Waterfall (124.5 m) for photos and rest.

  Day 2: Early ascent via the iconic “Tarzan Path” — steep, panoramic, and secured with metal cables, leading directly to the summit dome of Mount Botev. After a well-deserved break at the top, we descend back to Panitsite.

  • Duration: 2 days (1 overnight stay)

  • Elevation gain: total +1600 m

  • Difficulty: High (requires endurance)

  • Starting point: Panitsite area (above Kalofer town)

  💸 Price of the hike

  • Group hike (min. 4 people): €60 per person

  • Children up to 12 years: €47

  (The price includes guiding service. Accommodation and food at the hut are paid separately on site.)

  🎒 What to bring

  • Backpack (30–40L): enough for two days

  • High hiking boots with strong grip

  • Windproof and waterproof jacket: weather changes rapidly at the summit

  • Warm clothes for the evening: it gets cold at the hut after sunset

  • Headlamp: mandatory for evening hours

  • Food and water: at least 2 L of water (can be refilled at the hut)
